From Baroness UK you can buy Japanese-built Baroness cylinder mowers for greens, tees, approaches, fairways, rough, bunkers and sports pitches, sold through dealers and supported from Basingstoke for the UK, mainland Europe and South Africa. The detail that most sets it apart, the company says, is the cylinder itself: each blade is fitted and adjusted by hand before welding, every reel is balanced by a craftsman, and the steel goes through a hardening step taken from Japanese sword making.
Mowers for every part of your course
Models on its product page include the LM101 floating head greens mower, the LM331 surround and trim mower and the LM551 five-unit fairway mower, and its parts library also covers the LM56GC, LM66TC, LM66GC, LM311 and TR50. According to the website, the range is designed around low cost of ownership, ease of use and longer gaps between maintenance. Its B-ACT adjustment lets your team set the cylinder to cut more or less aggressively at the same height of cut, so you can match the finish to your own turf. Compare other mowers and turf equipment suppliers and wider golf course equipment and maintenance suppliers.
Parts, manuals and people you can call
You can download operating manuals, parts manuals, service schedules, service manuals and cutting unit documents by model and serial range. The UK team includes a technical director, area sales managers, an area sales and service manager for Scotland, a customer support technician and parts staff. You can ask for a demonstration through its contact form or use the dealer page to find your local stockist.
Finance options for UK clubs
Through Baroness Finance, a trading style of Buckingham Leasing Limited that is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, you can spread the cost of a machine over one to seven years by hire purchase, finance lease or operating lease. Some options need no deposit, and the operating lease can fold maintenance costs into the rental interest free. Finance is offered to UK business customers only, subject to status, and administration fees apply. Our guide to how to buy golf course machinery new, used or leased compares these routes.
History and courses using Baroness
Baroness was founded in Japan in 1910 and moved into golf in the 1950s. Its machines first reached the UK in 1983 through Saxon Industries, and Kyoeisha UK was formed in 2008 after Saxon left the groundcare trade. The website quotes the course manager at Royal St George’s on the LM56, the course manager at Ham Manor Golf Club on the LM315, and the head greenkeeper at Donnington Grove Golf Course, who says the LM2700 stayed on cut on the fairways. Baroness says its machines are used and distributed in more than 15 countries.
Other golf suppliers in the United Kingdom listed here include Reesink Turfcare, Redexim UK and SISIS.
