GLK Turf Solutions

You get turf equipment and on-site contract work from the same supplier, for golf clubs and courses, sports complexes, sod producers, municipalities and independent school districts. GLK Turf Solutions, a turf equipment dealer and contract services company in Royse City, Texas, is one of the golf course suppliers in the United States covering both machinery sales and on-site work.

Turf machines you can buy for your course

The brands shown on its website are Above Par Tech, ABI Force, Imants, Vredo, Trimax, Kress, Korechi, Campey, Groundworx and Dakota. Its ranges for golf course equipment and maintenance include these.

• Imants. The Field Topmaker fraise mower lets you strip Poa annua, thatch or the whole surface to 2 inches deep, and it uses a Campey Universe rotor. Also listed are the ShockWave and ShockWave Xtreme linear decompactors, the Recycling Dresser, Root Pruner, Rotoknife, SandCat, QuickDrain and Topdrain, the last named for fairways and large turf areas.
• Trimax. Mowers include the Snake S3 pull-behind rotary unit, which Trimax builds for golf and sports turf, along with the Striker, ProCut S5, Stealth S3, Pegasus S5, Ezeemow FX and Warlord S3.
• Vredo. Seeders such as the Super Compact, Single Compact and Turf Buddy cover your overseeding and turf repair, and they sit within its maintenance tools and supplies range.

GPS spraying and robotic mowing for your course

If you already own a sprayer of any brand, aftermarket kits can add an AgLeader GPS system with single nozzle control to it. Above Par Tech sprayers come as the HP 500, a 500 gallon self-contained unit with AgLeader technology, and the 300 gallon HP 300, plus mounted skid units.

You can also buy Kress robotic mowers for golf courses. They run on the Kress RTK correction network for sub-inch accuracy and, according to its site, need no annual subscription or extra infrastructure.

Contract work instead of buying, or financing if you buy

If you do not want to buy a machine, GLK carries out the agronomic work itself under contract, and part of what you spend on these services can be put toward owning the equipment later. Financing plans are offered on equipment purchases. If you are comparing new and used machines, you may find the guide to buying golf course machinery useful.

The site describes its area as the South Central US, with named managers for North and West Texas and West Oklahoma, and for South and Central Texas. Testimonials on its About page come from staff at Bent Tree Country Club, The Nelson Golf and Sports Club and FC Dallas.

Who you will be dealing with

The company says it has been owned and run by turfgrass professionals since 2014, and its team includes former golf course superintendents and sports turf managers.
