Irrigation Control gives your golf course one contractor for the whole irrigation job, from surveying and designing a system through installation to ongoing servicing, with supply of parts and rental of the trenching plant used to lay pipe. Formed in 1993 and based in purpose-built premises in Warrington, it works for courses across the United Kingdom and says it now operates throughout Europe. Its golf work ranges from simple upgrades of an existing system to complete new installations, and its own photos show its branded trenchers working on fairways and around greenside bunkers.
Design and survey before you commit
You can start with an appraisal of the system you already have. The design service runs from site survey and specification writing to project analysis and support after the work is finished, and it lists GPS work and service plan production as part of that service. A survey request form on the design page lets you ask for a visit. The company says it builds each package from the client’s own brief.
Installation crews with their own machinery
Because the installation teams draw on what the company calls one of Europe’s largest specialist equipment fleets, you are not waiting for a contractor to source plant before work can start. Named golf installations include Notts Golf Club at Hollinwell, which chose Irrigation Control for a new irrigation system after what the company describes as a long selection process, and Wimbledon Park Golf Club. Its project photos also show multi-pump stations with control panels and flow metering. The logos on its clients page include golf clubs such as Centurion Club, Bearwood Lakes and Coxmoor Golf Club, alongside football clubs and venues.
Service plans and equipment rental
- Nationwide support from qualified service engineers, with service plans and off-site support packages; St George’s Park is the named service client.
- Published weekly rental rates for trenching plant, for example the RT55 Combo at £550, the RT75 Mole-Plough at £750, the RT90 Combo at £900 and the RT115 Mole-Plough at £1,150.
- Smaller plant including a JCB 8014 at £125 a week and a Hitachi ZX30 at £175 a week, plus a sprinkler kit at £450 and a turf cutter at £100.
Equipment sales are listed on its website but the sales page was marked coming soon. If you are weighing renting against buying plant, our guide to buying golf course machinery, new, used or leased sets out the options. You can compare other suppliers under irrigation and drainage and the wider golf course equipment and maintenance section.
Other golf suppliers listed here include TH Golf, SISIS and Redexim UK.
