American Lake Veterans Golf Course in Lakewood, Washington has renewed its agreement with Power Tee, so its covered driving range keeps its 10 automated teeing systems. The course and Power Tee announced the renewal on October 27, 2026.
The course was built in 1957 for veterans and their families and is run by more than 200 volunteers, many of them veterans. It describes adaptive golf as a big part of what it does.
What the systems do
Power Tee’s units raise a new ball to the golfer’s chosen tee height after each shot, so nobody has to bend down to tee up. In the announcement the course’s general manager, Sam Williams, says a lot of its golfers are older or disabled veterans who find teeing up at the range hard, and that the systems let them practice with more independence. Power Tee founder Martin Wyeth says the company is proud to keep working with the course.
The range is one part of a bigger investment. The release says the Friends of American Lake Veterans Golf Course has put more than $14 million into the facility, including a $1.4 million Rehabilitation Learning Center with Full Swing indoor simulators, a new irrigation system, work on the back nine, mobility-impaired golf carts and more than 72 new carts through a cart sponsorship program.
Why it matters for range operators
Auto-tee systems usually get sold on throughput and repeat visits, but this is a useful example of the accessibility side, which is worth thinking about for any range with an older customer base or an adaptive golf program. Pricing wasn’t published (Power Tee quotes per site, based on the number of units and the installation). Power Tee, which is headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida with a European base in Swindon, England, is listed in our directory alongside other driving range bay and driving range equipment suppliers. Our driving range equipment checklist covers the rest of the kit.
