You get compact electric golf carts, mostly single-seaters plus one two-seat car, that you can test drive first and have repaired at your home or golf club under warranty at no extra cost. Bugg-ease Ltd designs and sells them from West Yorkshire, near East Bierley Golf Club outside Bradford, and is one of the golf suppliers based in the United Kingdom.

Golf carts you can buy

• Lithium 4000 Pro, its best-selling single-seater, in steering wheel and handlebar versions at £2,150 to £2,400 plus VAT. The company says the lithium battery lasts 36 holes or more, the cart is light enough to be kind to greens, and it is Class 2 road legal in the UK.
• Flex, its most compact single-seater, which folds together to fit into small hatchbacks, listed at £2,250 to £2,500.
• 4 Seasons Crossover Pro, a two-seat cart designed for year-round use, at £5,500 plus VAT. According to the company it weighs half as much as a typical two-seater and needs less space in a cart barn.

Your cart price includes the lithium battery and several accessories. If you hold a Blue Badge or a GP letter, you can buy a single-seat cart free of VAT for private use. You can also part exchange an older cart.

Batteries, spares and accessories you can order online

The online shop sells replacement lithium batteries with chargers in a 27-hole 36Ah size at £500 and a 36-hole 50Ah size at £550. Accessories and spares include canopy and visor sets, spare wheels, a storage box, a waterproof cover, an extended umbrella holder and a bumper. Its own folding loading ramps, sized for the length, angle and weight of a golf cart, cost £150, or £180 with a bag.

Try a cart, then have it delivered

Book a no-obligation demonstration at your home, golf club or one of its hubs, through demonstration agents across the UK and Ireland, many of them existing owners, or test drive a cart on the East Bierley course. Each cart is tested and assembled before it leaves, then delivered across the UK or collected from the warehouse showroom, about a mile from the club and open seven days by appointment.

Warranty and repairs at your home or golf club

Single-seat carts come with a 12-month on-site warranty and the lithium battery with a 36-month warranty. Faults are first checked by phone, then repaired by a technician at your home or golf club, or taken to the workshop and returned, at no extra cost.

Jon Mellors and Matt Anderson started the company at East Bierley Golf Club after watching their fathers and their playing partners find a full round harder to walk.
