Fairway Products

From Fairway Products, a family-run manufacturer in the Manchester area, you can buy everyday course hardware: golf course equipment such as flags, flag pins, hole cups and cutters, tee markers and bunker rakes, plus signage and course furniture. The company says its products are made in UK factories run by people it knows. It has made its own design, the Multimat winter fairway mat, since 1998, and says the R&A asked it to build a bespoke set of equipment for the 131st British Open at Royal St George’s.

The Multimat for winter play

If you want golfers hitting from fairways through winter without taking divots, the Multimat is a one-piece, double-ended plastic molding measuring 15.5 by 4.5 inches, so there are no loose parts to lose or replace. According to the company, its plastic blend will not break on a mis-hit even when frozen to minus 20 degrees. Grippers on both faces stop the mat sliding, recessed pockets hold the ball on steep slopes, and you get two playing surfaces and a choice of two colors. Outside the UK you can buy it through distributors in Canada (Golf Supply House), Denmark (Extreme Golf), Ireland (Brendan Farrell Golf Wholesale) and Sweden (Hägges Golf AB).

Range, practice area and course furniture

For a range or practice ground, the online catalog lists tee mats from the Premium Tee Mat at £235 and the EXCEL Tee Mat at £336 up to a tee mat set in a metal frame at £1,049, along with a separate rubber frame, a white line teaching mat, non-infill tee grass, rubber tees, plastic ball baskets and distance flags with ground sockets. Our driving range equipment checklist helps you plan the rest. Around tees and paths, you can order mesh and wooden slatted litter bins, the Litter Mate, litter pickers, and recycled plastic benches and bench seats.

Greenkeeping tools and accessories

Its maintenance tools and supplies cover specialist greenkeeper tools, general and specialist rakes, irrigation and amenity products, people control, putting green items, ball washers, bootwipers and shoe cleaners, and clothing and site safety wear. The course accessories range adds marker and proximity posts, tee boxes, divot mix boxes and Footgolf equipment.

Ordering and delivery

You can open an account and order online. UK mainland orders usually arrive by 5pm the next working day by express unless stated otherwise, and parcels up to 2 kg cost £6.00 to £12.50 plus VAT. Deliveries to the Scottish Highlands and offshore islands take 2 to 5 days, while Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, Europe and the rest of the world are priced by quotation. Jason Straccia, nephew of founder Jack Rigby, has run the business since 2004.
