If you run a country club, resort or residential development, you can hire this contractor for new golf course construction or renovation contracts, with on-site supervision the company says it puts on every job. Golf Creations, a certified member of the Golf Course Builders Association of America (GCBAA), is based in Marengo, Illinois, in the United States, with a Southwest office in Peoria, Arizona.

Construction work you can hire it to do

You can bring in an outside architect or buy design and build from the company and its in-house consulting team. Its published service list gives you project management, cost analysis, rough grading, shaping, feature construction, drainage installation, irrigation, seedbed preparation, grassing and GPS survey, plus aerification, topdressing and fertilization programs. Its team page names Jim Lohmann as vice president and operations manager in charge of estimating materials and installation, so you can see who leads that work.

Bunkers that hold sand on steep faces and drain quickly

If you are planning bunker renovation, the Better Billy Bunker method keeps sand on steep faces and lets water drain at up to 350 inches per hour. Golf Creations says it has been a certified installer since August 2012. The method lays 2 inches of gravel on the bunker floor and sprays it with a polymer that binds the stones.

At Laurel Hill Golf Club in Lorton, Virginia, the course stayed open on temporary greens while the firm replaced failing fabric liners and contaminated sand in all 120 bunkers over four to five weeks in September. Other installations it lists include Gainey Ranch Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, Glen Oak Country Club in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and Quail Hollow Country Club in Concord, Ohio.

Courses and awards you can judge its work by

Its new construction gallery shows Blackstone, Boulder Ridge, Canyata, Frye Lake National, The Merit Club and Hunters Ridge in Marion, Iowa, a course routed around oak savannas and wetlands inside a residential community. At Burlington, a private course west of Chicago, it shaped and built a fourth hole with an island green, letting the layout play as 9 or 18 holes. Renovation clients include Chenequa, Grand Geneva Resort, Westmoreland and Prairie Landing. Jefferson City Country Club received Golf Inc.’s 2010 Renovation of the Year honor for work it did, and Midlothian CC earned the same honor in 2005.

New and upgraded fields for schools and sports venues

If you run a school, recreation district or professional venue, a separate division can build you a new athletic field or upgrade an existing one. UW Madison Football, Notre Dame Football and Fifth Third Ballpark are among its listed projects.
