You can buy launch monitors, complete simulator studios and Course Play software memberships from one brand, sold mostly for garage, basement and spare room setups. SkyTrak is a launch monitor and home simulator brand with its headquarters in Englewood, Colorado, and it says it has sold more than 115,000 units.

Launch monitors you can choose from

You can choose from SkyTrak’s own ST MAX, ST+ and SKYTRAK units.

• ST MAX gives you 15 ball and club metrics from dual Doppler radar paired with a photometric camera system, plus GOLFTEC speed training drills and two USB ports for charging while you play. A protective ST MAX case is rated for ball strikes up to 100 mph.
• ST+ lets you connect a PC, Android phone, iPhone or iPad in USB, Direct or Network mode, and SkyTrak recommends Network mode.
• The original SKYTRAK unit shows you shot shape, launch angle and spin rate, and connects through its own WiFi hotspot.
• Certified pre-owned ST MAX, ST+ and SKYTRAK units are refurbished, with a 90-day warranty listed on the original model.

Simulator studios sized to your space

You can order Standard, Premium and Ultimate packages in 8, 10, 12 and 13 foot depths. Each gives you an enclosure, frame, stretch impact screen and a 5 by 5 foot hitting mat.

• Standard uses the ZW350ST short-throw projector.
• Premium uses the same ZW350ST projector and adds putting turf.
• Ultimate uses the GT2300HDR laser projector at 3,500 lumens and adds putting turf and a ball tray holding up to 100 balls.

You can add installation by Geek Squad technicians, who assemble the studio and connect the launch monitor to the projector. The company says two people can assemble the steel frame in under an hour. It also says the SKYTRAK enclosure screen is rated for ball speeds up to 250 mph. On 8 foot studios the projector sits in a floor mount, and larger studios mount it on the frame or ceiling. Carl’s Place PRO and DIY enclosure kits are also on sale.

Courses and practice tools for your simulator

Course Play gives you more than 100 courses, including Pebble Beach and Royal Birkdale, with Big Sky and American Dunes recently added. Membership plans include Core and Elite, and Trackman software is available to new customers only through the Core: Trackman or Elite plans. Practice tools include Skills Assessments, Bag Mapping, Randomized Practice, Wedge Matrix and lie penalties.
