If your golfers walk the course, Stewart Golf gives your pro shop a hand-built electric push cart (the company calls them trolleys) that follows the player hands-free or answers a remote control from up to 75 meters away. Every new cart carries a 2 year manufacturer’s warranty, and the warranty terms say carts bought from an authorized UK retailer or club shop are covered the same way as carts bought direct. Stewart Golf is listed with other electric push cart and trolley makers, in golf carts and utility vehicles and among United Kingdom golf suppliers.
Follow and remote models
The range splits into two families. Follow models, led by the Q Follow, the Q Follow Carbon Range and The Open Q Follow, let the golfer walk hands-free with the cart following, and switch to remote control whenever needed. Stewart introduced Follow in 2014. Remote models, the VERTX Remote, The Open VERTX Remote and the V10 Remote, are driven from a handset, and the VERTX uses what the company calls Active Terrain Control for handling uphill, downhill and across uneven ground. Remote control has been part of the business since the X1R launched in 2003.
Built in Gloucestershire, with a facility in Texas
Stewart Golf is a family-owned company founded by Mark and Ross Stewart. It designs, engineers and hand builds its carts under one roof at its headquarters in Quedgeley, Gloucester. The company also runs a facility in Houston, Texas, and lists international distribution partners on its despatch network page. Its patented designs cover how its carts look, fold and move, and is an official licensee of The Open, which is why two models carry The Open branding.
Servicing, parts and refurbished carts
Owners can book a service online for Q, VERTX, X and V10 models, and the online shop sells genuine spare parts, cart bags, a battery and charger health check and other accessories. Approved Refurbished carts pass a 21-step check and road test and come with a 12-month warranty, which gives budget-conscious members a route into the brand. Lithium cart and handset batteries are covered for 2 years, and an extended 3 year warranty can be bought with a new cart.
Who it suits
Stewart Golf fits clubs and retailers whose members want a premium walking cart rather than a riding cart. For riding fleets, see the guide to buying, leasing or renting a golf cart fleet. Other push cart makers listed here include PowaKaddy, Motocaddy and Bugg-ease.
