You can buy custom or bulk golf netting and ball-stop barriers online for a commercial driving range, an indoor simulator room or a home practice area. The supplier is US Netting, a netting manufacturer in Erie, Pennsylvania, that has made custom nets since 1983, according to its website.

Three driving range net grades to match the field life you need

You can match breaking strength and field life to your range by choosing from three grades, all in black 1 inch mesh.

• Economy, aimed at start-up ranges, is UV-inhibited polyethylene with a listed breaking strength of 35 lbs per mesh and a field life of 5 to 7 years. It has no rope border.
• Pro is polyethylene with a sun-blocking finish, rated at 65 lbs per mesh with a 7 to 10 year field life. It has no rope border.
• Premium is tarred #18 nylon in diamond mesh with a nylon rope border, rated at 165 lbs per mesh, with a listed field life of 10 to 14 years. You also get a 10 year manufacturer’s warranty. Nets 30 feet and taller come with rib lines, one for 30 to 35 foot heights and two for 40 to 50 foot heights.

If you need other sizes or colors, you can ask for a quote.

Golf nets cut to your specification, plus indoor and hitting nets

If a standard range net does not fit your space, the cut-to-order golf net is sold by the square foot. It is knotted DuPont nylon in 3/4 inch to 1 inch mesh with twine from #15 to #21, and it is water-repellent. Stock panels give you 3/4 inch mesh, #21 twine and a 3/8 inch nylon rope border, rated to 210 lbs. For commercial jobs, you can order custom golf netting in square or diamond mesh cut to specification.

The golf catalog also gives you hitting nets, impact netting, golf cage netting, UV-stabilized outdoor netting, and indoor netting for practice rooms and commercial simulator spaces. If your facility needs netting beyond golf, the company also sells cargo, construction safety, loading dock and agricultural netting.

Clients and approvals you can weigh before you order

The company says it has worked with 23 of the 25 largest US defense contractors, and its partial customer list includes the PGA Tour, NASA, the US armed forces and Universal Studios. It is also an FAA Certified Repair Station, number 9NTR146D. You can find it among netting firms in the United States.

What to plan for when you order and install

Plan to source support poles and installation separately, because US Netting supplies the netting only. Shipping is free on qualified orders over $1,000. The company’s driving range installation guide suggests 3/4 inch or 1 inch mesh, net heights of 45 to 65 feet at the tee area, and adding 10% to the calculated area for seams and overlaps. It works from its own 25,000 square foot building.

Our driving range equipment checklist sets out the other items a range build needs, and you can find more suppliers in the driving range equipment category.
