If you run a golf course or clubhouse in the United Kingdom, Club Insure can arrange your golf club insurance through a panel of UK insurers, then back it with risk visits to your site and an in-house claims team if something goes wrong. The Leeds broker says it has insured golf courses for more than 25 years, from well-known venues to small local and community-run clubs, and it is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Cover you can put in place for your course

You can protect your clubhouse buildings and contents, grounds, staff, members and visiting public. The golf page lists cover for falls and injuries on the premises, fire, flooding and water damage, theft and vandalism, damage to third party property, unlicensed vehicles, and legal fees and court judgments. Public liability, employers’ liability, personal accident, business interruption and cyber cover can be included. Machinery and equipment cover usually takes in the vehicles and golf carts your club owns, and the company warns that cart batteries on their own are now a common target for thieves, a point to weigh when you plan a golf cart fleet. A pro shop on your premises is normally covered for both the building and its stock, though Club Insure advises checking your policy wording.

Support beyond the policy

Its risk managers will visit and assess your club, then advise on control measures that lower your exposure. As a client you also get an online library of checklists, inspection documents and record-keeping templates for health and safety, which the company says can help if you need to defend a claim. The broker adds that many of its staff are lifelong golfers.

Who you will work with

You get a dedicated account executive who will visit your club, backed by account handlers, a specialist claims department and risk management specialists. Named staff on the golf page include:

  • Mark DeardenSchemes Manager
  • Nick Howell

Claims and client feedback

When heavy rain flooded the car park and cart storage area at Garforth Golf Club in Yorkshire on 27 December 2023, the club’s claim paid for contractors to pump out the water, and managing secretary Stuart Carnie called the process easy and straightforward. Hesketh Golf Club and Ladbrook Park Golf Club give 2026 testimonials on the golf page, pointing to a smooth annual renewal and a close working relationship with the team.

Associations and wider club work

Club Insure is a BIBA member, an appointed broker to the Association of Conservative Clubs and the National Union of Liberal Clubs, and the preferred insurance partner of The Bingo Association. It also insures sports, social, political, bingo, community and private clubs, so it already handles the bar, function and licensing risks a golf clubhouse carries.
