If you run a driving range and want golfers hitting after dark, Qualite Sports Lighting can design the layout, supply the LED fixtures, poles and controls, and install the whole system. The Hillsdale, Michigan company makes the GameChanger Q-LED fixture, which won gold in the outdoor adventure category of the 2017 Edison Awards, and it publishes a 25-year or 10,000-hour warranty on it. Golf sits on its venue list next to football, baseball, soccer and skate parks, and it is a maker of range lighting based in the United States.

Lighting planned around the width of your range

You get a layout worked out for your site. Qualite’s golf page says it plans pole orientation and placement, the number of poles needed for the width of the range, illuminance and uniformity levels, controls and how sharply spill light is cut off. Its designers work from three fixture series, four wattages and eight beam spreads, and the company says every system it designs delivers guaranteed light levels. Visored fixtures keep light on site, and unvisored ones save that cost where spill is not a concern. Poles and installation from the manufacturer

You choose how much of the job Qualite takes on. A partial install puts the poles up and fits the lights, while a turn-key job adds all the electrical work, which the company says simplifies buying for owners and contractors. Because the manufacturer installs its own products, it says it can control installation quality. Poles come concrete direct embedded, steel direct embedded or steel anchor based, and can carry steps, service platforms with a 42-inch top rail, and a safety-climb cable. Assemblies are welded by AWS certified welders, galvanized to ASTM 123, and pre-wired and pre-aimed before shipping.

Warranty and ways to pay

Your lights stay covered for decades. The GameChanger Q-LED carries a 25-year or 10,000-hour term, with Qualite supplying the materials to keep the system running to its original design, and the Universal Series carries 30 years on the luminaire assemblies and their pre-aimed alignment, parts and labor included. You can finance 100 percent of a lighting package, with monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual payments, deferred schedules, fixed payments and ownership at the end, and commercial businesses qualify. Public and nonprofit buyers can also use its BuyBoard cooperative contract, or its TIPS/TAPS vendor status in Texas, Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.
