DLF Seeds UK sells you grass seed for each part of a golf course, from Masterline and Designer mixtures for greens, tees, fairways and roughs to wildflower mixes for out-of-play areas, alongside the Johnsons Sports Seed and MM Seed ranges. It works from Inkberrow in Worcestershire and Broxburn in West Lothian, serving courses across the United Kingdom. DLF describes itself as the world’s largest grass seed breeder, and it says most of its grass seed is grown in Denmark and tested in its own ISTA-accredited laboratories.

Golf grass seed mixtures you can order

You pick a mixture by playing surface instead of blending your own. The golf range lists Masterline mixtures for greens (4), tees (5), fairways (4) and roughs (1), and Designer mixtures for greens (3), tees (2) and fairways (1). The company says each Masterline mixture uses two varieties of every species, with options built for drought and heat, weed competition or disease tolerance. For greens, tees and fairways in cool-season climates it offers 007XL creeping bentgrass, bred by Dr. Hurley of Rutgers University. Behind these blends, its turf seed species list includes 21 perennial ryegrasses, 9 chewings fescues, 5 browntop bents and 3 creeping bents.

Seed that cuts fungicide, fertilizer and recovery time

Several DLF lines target the inputs you pay for. It says varieties with high brown patch resistance reduce your reliance on fungicides, Microclover fixes its own nitrogen, and ProNitro is sold for faster, stronger establishment. Its Roots program screens varieties for spring and early summer drought and for nutrient efficiency, and it publishes two years of drought trial data comparing common turf grass species.

Wildflower roughs with published golf results

If you want color and habitat in the rough, the Pro Flora and Colour Boost ranges are made for it, and you can read how they performed on real courses. DLF has written up wildflower areas at Alnmouth Golf Club on the Northumberland coast, a project at Lees Hall Golf Club now in its third year with Colour Boost, and an 80/20 Proflora golf rough at its Inkberrow site, monitored by a wildflower specialist for more than two years.

Certified seed and a team you can talk to

Certification means the seed you buy has passed official field inspections, sealed sampling and laboratory tests to EU standards. DLF runs two ISTA-accredited laboratories in Denmark and one in the Netherlands, and it says 5% of samples are retested by an official laboratory. A dedicated amenity team handles golf and sports turf enquiries, and its events calendar listed BTME in Harrogate for January 2026, a show covered in this guide to golf trade shows.

Other golf course equipment and maintenance suppliers listed here include TH Golf, Reesink Turfcare and SISIS.
