GroundTech is a family-owned supplier and installer of robotic grounds equipment based in West Dereham, Norfolk, in the United Kingdom. It sells and sets up autonomous mowers, GPS line markers and automated ball handling for golf courses, driving ranges, sports clubs, schools, airports, hospitality venues and public sector sites, and its website says it serves clients nationwide.

Robotic mowers for courses and estates

Its robotic mower range covers commercial Echo models, including the TM-850S, TM-1000, TM-1050, TM-2000 and TM-2050, alongside Kress Mission Mega and RTKn machines rated for areas of up to 36,000 m², and Sunseeker Elite X9 units. Most commercial models are priced on application. The GPS RTK machines run without a boundary wire, and the company lists app control of mowing times and cutting heights, theft and fault alerts, remote software updates and automatic return to the charging station. GroundTech says the robots use up to 90% less energy than a standard mower and can run for up to 24 hours a day. It also sells smaller Kress, Honda Miimo and Sunseeker models for home lawns.

Driving range ball collection and handling

For driving range equipment, GroundTech supplies the Echo RP-1250 robotic ball picker, with route changes and pausing from a phone or desktop, and leasing and maintenance packages on request. It pairs pickers with two handling systems. DropPit is an underground setup that collects, washes and returns balls to the dispenser, washing up to 700 balls per cycle and linking with existing dispensers and payment systems. The modular Range Servant ditch system runs from a basic ditch and cart up to a washer, elevator, hopper and Ultima 19 dispenser, handling up to 24,000 balls an hour with pickers of any brand. Operators planning a full fit-out can set these systems against our driving range equipment checklist.

Golf club projects and support

GroundTech publishes case studies from golf venues including Brentwood Golf Club, Whalebone Golf Club, Old Fold Manor, Rushden Golf Club and Brampton Heath Golf Centre. At Brentwood it installed an Echo TM-2050 for rough mowing with a 4G RTK base station, then trained staff on the app and on map editing, with ongoing support through a WhatsApp group. Whalebone Golf Club in Essex took a DropPit wash and return system, an RP1250 picker and a TM1050 mower with a deflection kit, under a package covering 24-hour monitoring, remote reprogramming, an annual mower service, two picker services a year and on-site repairs. Brampton Heath Golf Centre told the company its robots save around 30 to 40 hours of work each week.

Alongside machines for golf course maintenance, the firm offers one-off or contract line marking, maintenance plans and consultations without obligation, and runs open days with live demonstrations, most held between 10am and 2pm. Its website lists it at BTME 2027 in Harrogate. Other driving range suppliers listed here include Range Servant, EGM Golf and Amtech Range.
