Select Pi lets your driving range sell buckets with no one at the counter, so golfers can buy balls around the clock, including when your pro shop is closed. Made by Atlanta-based Leisure Design Systems, it adds a payment door to your existing ball machine and pairs it with a golfer app and back-office software. The company says more than 700 golf facilities use it, and its range finder covers sites in the USA, Canada and Australia. It belongs with other driving range equipment, ball dispensers and vending and range management software from suppliers in the United States.
What you can add to your range
- A Select Pi dispenser door with a QR scanner and weatherproof screen, built for outdoor use, with bucket sizes set by any ball count and prices you can change remotely. Golfers can use the app at any range with a Select Pi enabled Range Servant dispenser.
- A free golfer app for registering, loading credit, buying buckets and keeping receipts. One login shows credit at several Select Pi ranges, and existing range card or key balances sync when golfers sign up with the email the pro shop holds.
- Select Pi Ace Administrator, browser software hosted on Google Cloud that runs on Windows, Mac, iPad, Surface or Chromebook, with time-based pricing, a customer database and end-of-day reports.
- Select Pi Ace for Cashiers, so pro shop staff can register golfers, print pin and range QR codes and sell single buckets.
- Range Intelligence, which shows anonymized data on golfer visits, spend, retention and balls hit.
- Its own controlled-access turnstiles for mini-golf courses and simulator bays, opened by the app or single-use QR codes, plus a batting cage version built with Amusement Products.
Costs and getting started
For the 2026 season, new customers who trade in their current dispenser doors were offered $175 a month for a single dispenser, $275 a month for a double and $500 for setup and training. Select Pi ships the replacement doors for your machine. To take cards at the dispenser you open a merchant account with a named processing partner, Pineapple Payments in the US, Global Payments in Canada or First Data/Fiserv for Army facilities, then book a setup and training session. The company says it holds Level 1 PCI compliance, offers technical support on weekends and connects with point-of-sale and bay scheduling systems. If you are planning a new or upgraded range, see the driving range equipment checklist.
Ranges using Select Pi
Facilities named on its website include Maui Nui Golf Club, First Tee Chesterfield in North Carolina and North Lakes Driving Range in Texas. The First Tee director of golf operations is quoted saying card payment at the ball machine cut pro shop waits and lifted range revenue.
Other driving range suppliers listed here include Toptracer, Trackman and Golf Range Netting.
